There were two work colleagues on their way home from the office. They both arrived at the train station, and went to their opposite platforms A and B.
There was no information on the departure boards about what time the trains would be arriving. There were no announcements that there had been delays or any cancellations.
What was going on? What were they going to do? They both desperately wanted to get home after a long day at work.
The one on platform A decided to read her book, call a friend, meditate, read her bible, make small talk with other passengers, write in her journal, and listen to music, while she waited patiently.
The one on platform B, paced up and down the platform in annoyance, he argued with train staff, complained with other passengers.
Finally, tired of waiting he left the station to find other ways to get home.Just as he got outside the station, the trains arrived.
The one on platform A boarded her train while he ran back but it was too late – the train doors closed as he reached platform B.
I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the LORD! Psalm 27:13-14 (NKJV)
