Breakup

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats.

You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you

The Lord will save me when anyone tries to hurt me, and he will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. Glory forever and ever be the Lord’s. Amen.

Our fight is not against people on earth but against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world.

But forget all that, it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,

Instead of their shame my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace they will rejoice in their inheritance, and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs.

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him:

When Jesus received the message, He said, This sickness is not to end in death, but [on the contrary] it is to honor God and to promote His glory, that the Son of God may be glorified through (by) it.

The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor, He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity],

Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended, but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he who breathes out lies shall not escape

Do not say, I’ll pay you back for this wrong! Wait for the LORD, and he will deliver you.

Do not say, I’ll do to him as he has done to me, I’ll pay that man back for what he did.

I applied my heart to what I observed, and learned a lesson from what I saw

Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.I will lift up my eyes to the hills

What if the Lord had not been on our side when people attacked us? They would have swallowed us alive in their burning anger.

Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted, he rescues those whose spirits are crushed

The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed
