Depression

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well.

David was greatly distressed, for the men spoke of stoning him because the souls of them all were bitterly grieved, each man for his sons and daughters. But David encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Never stop praying.

You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you

We fight with weapons that are different from those the world uses. Our weapons have power from God that can destroy the enemy’s strong places. We destroy people’s arguments and every proud thing that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.

In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us], stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it, Because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,

Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well, the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.

Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him:

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor, He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity],

Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good–not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.

Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.

And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus

Know that the LORD, He is God, It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves, We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.

This is the day the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.I will lift up my eyes to the hills

Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy

O LORD my God, I cried out to You, and You healed me.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted, he rescues those whose spirits are crushed

The Lord also will be a refuge and a high tower for the oppressed, a refuge and a stronghold in times of trouble (high cost, destitution, and desperation).

We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed
