You’ve done it all, you’ve dated on AND offline, prayed, fasted, blind dates, sown a seed, loved and loved some more, been heart broken, forgiven, repented, healed… now what?
Life often presents us with situations where we’re unsure of what to do next. It might be the longing to find the right life partner and start a family, a dream that feels elusive despite your best efforts.
You’ve explored all avenues, from traditional dating to online platforms, sought divine intervention through prayer and fasting, ventured into blind dates, invested emotionally, experienced heartbreak, forgave, repented, and found healing. Yet, the question lingers: What’s next?
In times like these, remember the wisdom of Psalm 27:14, In moments of uncertainty, when you’ve done all you can, standing firm becomes crucial.
Never underestimate the power of prayer, as 1 Thessalonians 5:17 advises us never to stop praying. It’s in these waiting periods, the in-the-meantime-in-between-time is hardest, but what you do while you wait determines your character.
So wait…
Hopefully – As we wait for God’s plan to unfold, we must maintain hope, for it is the anchor of our souls. Hebrews 6:19 (NIV) reminds us, ‘We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.’ Our hope is in the Lord, and it gives us strength to endure the waiting season.
Patiently – Patience is a virtue celebrated throughout the Bible. In Psalm 37:7 (NIV), we are urged, ‘Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.’ This patience isn’t passive; it’s an active trust in God’s perfect timing.
Expectantly – Our waiting should be filled with expectation, for God promises to fulfil His plans for us. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) assures us, ‘For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’ So, as we wait, we do so with anticipation of His blessings.
Joyfully – Even in the midst of uncertainty, we can find joy in the Lord. Philippians 4:4 (NIV) encourages us, ‘Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!’ Our joy is not dependent on circumstances but on our relationship with God.
Graciously – While waiting, let’s extend grace to ourselves and others. Ephesians 4:2 (NIV) implores us to ‘Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.’ God’s grace sustains us, and we should reflect that grace in our interactions with those around us.
And the Lord shall strengthen your heart.
