When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee;
and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee:
when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned;
neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Isaiah 43:2
Just ended a relationship? or just been dumped by the one you loved and thought was going to be your husband/wife?
Have you been told, “just get over it!” or “it’s been a week come on, get over it!”
With the ending of a relationship, there are stages we are not suppose to jump over or skip, but go through. There is shock, the anger, denial, the regret, remorse to name a few.
It’s ok to feel hurt, cry, or even get angry, it’s all a part of the process, so you need time to ‘grieve’ the loss. How much time that is depends on each individual, for example statistically men get through breakups quicker than women do.
Skipping over the stages, will only lead to rebound relationships, bitterness, taking it out on the next person you’re with and a build up of negative emotions.
The good news is that the Lord said He is with you through it all, He said you will have trouble in life but through Him you overcome. The end of this relationship will not consume you but will make you stronger, wiser and better.
We can’t always see things through Gods eyes but we know all things work together for good to them that love Him. So go through it, not over it, and come out on the other side.
But He knows the way that I take, when He has tested me, I shall come forth as pure gold. Job 23:10
